Ying-Syuan (Elaine) Huang is an International Research Fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). Her Postdoctoral Fellowships for Research in Japan explore how social learning and participatory scenario development can contribute to UNESCO’s Futures of Education initiatives, and are jointly hosted by the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of
Sustainability (UNU-IAS) and Sophia University in Tokyo. Elaine received her Ph.D. degree in science education in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education at McGill University in 2019, and has been serving as a Research Associate since then. Her research focuses on education policy, politics and practice to examine how different forms of learning can contribute to creating a just and sustainable society.
